Meteor Mash

8/31/2026:

A little game where you shoot meteors, and get upgrades that radically change what your shots do, as well as provide boosts to your ship. Pretty good vibes.

About 4 months ago I decided I would try my hand at making video games for the first time ever, this is the result. My day job revolves around AI and I can't stand it, so I decided to use absolutely 0 AI while making this. I'm not a big AI user anyway. I am not really an artist but I still made (almost) all the art assets myself, with some free assets (sfx and button icons) from Kenney. I have a lot to learn, but I'm happy with the state of this project, and have decided to wrap it up here before I move on. I think it's kind of fun, I hope you enjoy it! Donations are welcome but entirely  optional.

It's unlikely I will be making any major changes to the game at this point - please be aware that I was unable to resolve the severe performance issues that start around 15 minutes in, which I might address. Or not. Also you will probably have to Alt+F4 to quit the game.

9/13/2026:

Added a bunch more QoL stuff, added a bit more content, and made pretty steep improvements to the performance issues from v0.2.0. Now is a great time to give this a try! See the devlog below for further updates.
